Notes From Under Ground Releases 'Names In Blue', a Satire on Music Industry Nepotism

Lachlan Caskey's solo project Notes From Under Ground has released a new single, 'Names In Blue'. The track satirizes music industry nepotism through a yacht rock-inspired arrangement.

Caskey, also known as the guitarist for Last Dinosaurs, wrote, produced, arranged, and performed the song. It features drums by Bad Suns' Miles Morris and additional piano by Michael Seyer. Jake Miller, known for work with ROSALÍA, Yves Tumor, and Eyedress, handled mixing and mastering.

The title refers to the blue hyperlinks on Wikipedia. Caskey states the song is a satire on the "insufferable nature of nepotism in the music industry," born from his own experiences living in Los Angeles. He describes "names in blue" as the visible record of a parent's established wealth and influence.

The single is out now via Eryngii.
