Spotify Opens Voting for MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026

Public voting for the MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 opened on March 19. Spotify is the official voting platform for three categories: 'Best of Listeners' Choice: Japanese Songs', 'Best of Listeners' Choice: International Songs', and the new 'Best Global Hit from Japan'.

Voting is open to Spotify users worldwide. Spotify Premium subscribers can cast two votes per day, while free users get one vote daily.

The listener-voted categories are 'Best of Listeners' Choice: Japanese Songs' and 'Best of Listeners' Choice: International Songs'. Its nominees will be selected by Spotify users outside Japan.

The initial voting round runs from March 19 to April 8. A final voting round for the two 'Listeners' Choice' awards is scheduled from April 30 to May 20.

To vote, users open the MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN hub within the Spotify app and select a voting playlist. Votes cannot be changed or canceled after submission.

The awards organization, the Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA), also released an official playlist titled 'museum'. It features approximately 3,000 songs entered into this year's awards.

The voting playlists are accessible via Spotify: Japanese Songs, International Songs, and Best Global Hit from Japan.
