Super Kaguyahime! Announces Theatrical Re-Release with New Trailer and Visuals

The anime film Super Kaguyahime!, which drew 1.34 million viewers, will return to Japanese theaters this September in premium formats.

The film, directed by Seigo Yamashita, originally premiered on Netflix before a theatrical run that grossed 2.7 billion yen. Its music was provided by Vocaloid producers ryo (supercell), kz (livetune), 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra, and yuigot.

The re-release begins September 18. It will feature screenings in MX4D, 4DX, SCREENX, ULTRA 4DX, and Dolby Atmos formats.

Newly drawn visuals show the main characters—Kaguya, Saya, and manager Yachiyo Tsukimi—in vibrant festival attire. These designs are being used for advance ticket cards in Japan.
