TV Anime 'The Vermilion Mask' Set for October 2026 Premiere

The TV anime adaptation of the manga 'The Vermilion Mask' will premiere in October 2026. The series will air in two split cours on the Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV network on Saturdays at 5:30 PM. The production studio 100studio has released the key visual and a teaser trailer.

The key visual depicts the three main characters: protagonist Pell, and his companions Sona and Mok. The teaser trailer, the first look at the animation, reveals action scenes featuring powers granted by mystical masks.

The story follows Pell, an apprentice to the legendary mask artisan Gaston Roux. After being controlled by a mask he picks up, he unintentionally kills his master and comrades. To prevent further tragedy, Pell sets out on a journey to destroy all of Gaston's masks scattered across the world, confronting his own guilt along the way.

Main Characters

Pell: An apprentice to Gaston Roux. Haunted by the past, he travels to destroy his master's masks.

Sona: A former princess of Lisbran. Despite witnessing her mother's murder, she retains her inner strength and brightness, choosing to leave her homeland to aid Pell.

Mok: A young man unable to remove his smoke mask. While he can manipulate smoke, he must now smoke regularly to survive. He joins Pell's journey hoping to remove the mask.

Production Details

The manga, written by Dr.Poro and illustrated by Nabana Naba, is serialized in Shonen Gahosha's Young King Ours magazine. Eight volumes are currently available.

The anime is directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe, with series composition by Daisuke Ohto. Character design and chief animation direction is handled by Hisashi Higashijima. Music is composed by Arisa Okehazama. Animation production is by 100studio.
