Shirahama created a new illustration of the main Atelier members for the announcement. The original creator and series director Ayumu Watanabe provided comments on the renewal.

"The magic show created by the wonderful production team is not over yet," Shirahama wrote. "They will show us the continuation with the highest quality." She added that while viewers may have been surprised by the first season's conclusion, "as the original author, I guarantee it's worth the wait."

Director Watanabe stated, "The story will become larger, deeper, and speak to Coco and her friends about learning and discovering magic." He mentioned new locations and characters, adding, "We want to draw this adventure with even more heart and excitement."

The first season of Witch Hat Atelier is streaming globally on Netflix. The fantasy series is based on Shirahama's manga, which has sold over 9 million copies worldwide and won an Eisner Award in the United States.
