YOSHIKI to become first Japanese artist at New York's Global Citizen Festival

YOSHIKI will perform at the Global Citizen Festival in New York's Central Park on September 26, 2026. He is the first Japanese artist to be featured on the festival's main stage.

The lineup includes Ms. Lauryn Hill & Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Alicia Keys, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Actor Hugh Jackman will host.

YOSHIKI plans to perform X JAPAN's "ENDLESS RAIN" and has called for a crowd sing-along. The festival, which draws an audience of approximately 60,000, will be live-streamed globally via YouTube, Amazon Music, Apple Music, TikTok, and Veeps.

In a statement, YOSHKI said he believes music can move people to action. "There is a unique, powerful voice, spirit, and beauty in Asian rock," he said. "I consider it an honor to be one of the people who can deliver that appeal to the world."

The artist headlined the Global Citizen NOW: Tokyo event in June 2026. His foundation, YOSHIKI FOUNDATION AMERICA, has donated millions to global disaster relief and humanitarian causes.

Global Citizen is a movement aimed at ending extreme poverty. The 2026 campaign goals include providing education for 2 million children and supporting 1.5 million small-scale farmers.

Free tickets for the New York event are distributed via a lottery system through the Global Citizen app, which rewards points for advocacy actions. A $25 donation option also secures a ticket.

The festival is presented by Cisco, with partners including Delta Air Lines and MetLife. Live Nation is the production partner.
