CECIL's 2004 EP 'Tiger Lily' Gets First Digital Release After 22 Years

The 2004 EP 'Tiger Lily' by the early-2000s creative collective CECIL is now available on streaming platforms for the first time. The digital release arrives 22 years after its original physical launch.

CECIL's sound blended neo-acoustic and soft rock with elements of electronica and lounge, defined by transparent vocals and nostalgic melodies.

The four-track EP includes the songs 'Urara,' 'Pra Balloon,' 'Eien to Ichinichi,' and 'Machiawase,' with artwork by Kanbara Kunie.

In a statement, core member Taichi Ohira addressed the long gap. "It's been 22 years, I'm like Urashima Taro," he said, referencing the Japanese folk tale of a fisherman who returns home after centuries. He described CECIL's work as capturing "the colors of the seasons, the silence between words, the sound of water, the sweet tastes of Japan."

'Tiger Lily' is available globally via major streaming and download services.
