Anime 'Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa Inai!?' Sets April 8 Premiere with i-dle, Sanshi Shoujo Themes

The anime adaptation of the popular manga Otaku ni Yasashii Gal wa Inai!? (Is There a Gal Who's Kind to Otaku!?) will premiere on April 8. The series will air on TV Asahi and BS Asahi in Japan, with streaming available on platforms including Hulu, U-NEXT, and DMM TV.

The story follows otaku high school student Takuya Seo, who finds himself drawn to two gyaru classmates: the cheerful Kotoko Ijichi and the cool but slightly airheaded Kei Amane.

The opening theme, "HIDE AND SEEK," is by the global girl group i-dle. The ending theme, "Isshou Nakayoshi," is by the Osaka-based "neo-cute rock" band Sanshi Shoujo.

The first episode, titled "Otaku and Gal and Kiramon," sees Takuya approached by the two girls.

Streaming begins on d Anime Store and Anime Times immediately after the TV broadcast on April 8. A wider release on Hulu, U-NEXT, DMM TV, and others starts on April 11.

A companion radio show hosted by voice actor Yū Serizawa (Kotoko Ijichi) will launch on April 4 on the program A&G TRIBAL RADIO EDISON.

The anime will have a stage event at AnimeJapan 2026 in Tokyo on March 29, featuring the main cast and special MC Coolpoco.

The series is directed by Shin Mita, with series composition by Kazuhiko Inukai. Animation production is handled by TMS Entertainment's Studio 6.
