Original Anime 'Pocket Apricot' to Premiere at Hollywood Film Festival

Director Hayato Inoue's original anime series 'Pocket Apricot' will have its world premiere at Global Stage Hollywood 2026. The festival will screen a work-in-progress cut of the first episode at the TCL Chinese Theatre on October 3.

The eight-episode family fantasy series follows a child who, after losing their grandfather, ventures into a strange world to reconnect with a best friend. Production studio TOKYO EPIC developed the project from a Japanese script for an English-language release.

Following the screening, Inoue will participate in a talk session to discuss the series. The director has previously spoken at international events, including Global Stage Hollywood 2025 and France's SATIS 2025, on topics like AI-assisted animation production.
