Ryota Yagisawa úr SUPER BEAVER semur fyrsta kvikmyndatónlistina fyrir 'Hajimari no Sayonara'

SUPER BEAVER guitarist Ryota Yagisawa will compose his first film score for 'Hajimari no Sayonara'. The film, a project commemorating the 20th anniversary of the indie label murffin discs, will be released nationwide in Japan on November 20, 2026.

Labelmates sumika have written the film's theme song specifically for the project. Murffin discs, home to artists like SUPER BEAVER, sumika, and macaroni empitsu, is producing its first original feature-length film.

The story follows a boy raised by a mother who runs a music school. As his voice changes during puberty, his daily life and relationships begin to shift.

A teaser video featuring Yagisawa's score was released alongside the announcement. The footage shows the protagonist and his friend in the seaside town of Onomichi.

In a statement, Yagisawa reflected on his history with the label. "Murffin discs extended a hand to us when we were working independently after leaving a major label, by helping establish our new label [NOiD]," he said. He worked on the music with Kei Kawano.

The film marks the first leading role for actor Ryuto Okura. In his comments, Okura spoke about the pressure and subsequent shift in mindset while preparing for the role of Nagasawa Juta, a character grappling with familiar feelings of discomfort and conflict.

The cast includes Yuria Kubota, Kosuke Harada, Hideyuki Kasahara, Motoki Fukami, and Yuka Itaya. Ryohei Kumamoto directs from a script by Akira Tomori.

The film 'Hajimari no Sayonara' opens in Japanese theaters on November 20, 2026. Distribution is handled by TO Books.
