MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 reveals nominees for new Student Music Creators Challenge

Ten student music creators have been nominated for a new award at MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026. The Student Music Creators Challenge received 404 entries.

The nominees are brooks, kohamo, HARUTA, OTAKE, BLOOD BOY, NaUTS, mM7th, 岬小次郎 (Misaki Kojirō), 安見ゆうひ (Ami Yūhi), and the collaborative project ITADAKIMASU (feat. KVGGLV). Their nominated tracks are available on a dedicated Spotify playlist.

Organizers expanded the nominee list from five to ten artists after receiving 404 entries.

A jury will select the winner, to be announced at the MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2026 Premiere Ceremony on June 13, 2026, at TOYOTA ARENA TOKYO. The prize includes a ¥150,000 credit for a university public course.

The awards are backed by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
