A commercial featuring the song began airing in Japan on April 9. The full music video, which uses an animated depiction of a FIFA World Cup final, is scheduled for release on YouTube on April 27.

The song will be available on global streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music starting April 22.

Ado described the track as a rock song that felt natural to perform. "The lyrics overlapped with parts of myself, and singing it naturally made me feel fired up," she said. She noted that using the first-person pronoun "ore" (俺) was a new challenge, and she aimed for a vocal that conveyed a "cool, gritty" strength.

Tatsuya Kitani stated he had wanted to write a song for Ado. "I decided from the start to make it a rock sound with the guitar ringing out clearly," he said. The title "Kira" carries the meaning of "beautiful garments," intended to represent the unity of players and fans.
