FROGMAN Launches AI Brand to Revive Flash Anime Series

DLE and creator FROGMAN have launched AI Kaeru Otoko Shokai (AI Frogman Shop), a new brand using generative AI to revive classic Flash anime series, with weekly content releases on YouTube and TikTok starting June 3.

It will revive cult 2000s internet anime brands like Secret Society Eagle Talon, Kofun Gal's Cofy, and Dokan-kun. The project began after a May 2026 social media campaign to revive Kofun Gal's Cofy reached its repost goal of 1,000 in 1.5 hours.

In response, DLE used AI tools to create and publish a new video within two days. The AI-generated "live-action" style prompted fan requests to revive more series.

FROGMAN stated the brand aims to deliver content "before the enthusiasm cools," using AI to speed up production and evolve projects based on real-time fan feedback. New content will be posted every Wednesday at 8 PM JST on the brand's YouTube and TikTok channels.

The first scheduled release is a second Dokan-kun video on June 3. The brand plans to explore games, AR/VR content, multilingual support, and character goods alongside the AI-rebooted animations.

DLE emphasized a "clean" production system for the AI work, using only in-house original IP and commercially safe AI tools to avoid copyright infringement. All creative work is handled by the company's own staff.

FROGMAN compared the current generative AI landscape to the early days of Flash animation, viewing it as a new tool to be mastered for commercial entertainment. DLE previously challenged industry norms by airing a Flash anime series on broadcast TV in 2006.
