Hiromu Arakawa Discusses 'Yomi no Tsugai' in Square Enix Interview

Square Enix will release a new interview with manga artist Hiromu Arakawa on July 11. The video is part of the company's 'INSIDE SQUARE ENIX' series on its official YouTube channel.

The interview focuses on Arakawa's current series, Yomi no Tsugai (黄泉のツガイ). Arakawa discusses the series' origins, including early development with editors, character and world-building concepts, and research trips to the Tono region.

A special segment features a puppet based on Arakawa's original design drawings. The artist operated the puppet herself during filming.

The participants are Hiromu Arakawa, Shonen Gangan editor Jun Tanaka, and manga writer Chanmei as the host.

A separate Q&A video will also be released on July 11. It features Arakawa answering ten questions submitted by readers via Square Enix Members and X (formerly Twitter).

The main interview premieres on July 11 at 9:00 PM JST. The Q&A video will be available after the main program ends.
