ONE OK ROCK's Ryota Launches 'Melty Island' Project in Fortnite

Ryota of ONE OK ROCK will launch his new collaborative project, 'Melty Island,' inside Fortnite on July 23 at 6:00 PM JST.

The project is a 99-bot battle royale map built with Fortnite's Creative 2.0 tools.

Players can access the map using the code 0325-0159 5730. It is free to play and available on all major platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices.

The project's concept originated with Ryota's idea to "create a place I truly want to play."

The island's visual world is based on artwork by Swedish artist Emil Öhlund. The original score was composed by Shuya Yamamoto, with vocal contributions from SennaRin, Hoshikuma Minami, and Bonnie Fraser of the Australian band Stand Atlantic.

Creative direction was handled by Junji Kumahara of STUDIO KONBINI. The project allows players to monetize streams and uploads of their gameplay, including the in-game music. Specific guidelines are available on the project's UGC site.

"Through this project, I hope gaming, music, and art naturally intersect, giving players a chance to step into worlds outside the game," Ryota said.

The map's zones include 'Gameover Glitch,' a glitch-infected urban area; 'GameJaw,' a district overtaken by a giant monster; and 'Melt Forge,' a factory zone dominated by a massive skull. 'Toybox Commons' is a plaza filled with giant, melted toys.

Stand Atlantic's Bonnie Fraser, a self-described Fortnite fan, called it "so so cool to be a part of."
