The series is based on the manga by Shinya Misure serialized in Magazine Pocket. It follows high schooler Kai Yonosuke, who is obsessed with love comedies but believes they can't happen with real childhood friends—a theory challenged by his feelings for his own childhood friends, Shio and Akari.

Episode 11 centers on a school sports festival. Shio feels awkward with Yonosuke after a kiss. Akari, misunderstanding the situation, is shocked to learn the truth. Meanwhile, Yonosuke is taken to a batting cage by Haru, who begins to recognize her own complicated feelings for him.
