Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice TV Anime 'Sekiro: No Defeat' Set for 2027

A TV anime adaptation of FromSoftware's game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is scheduled to premiere in January 2027. Titled Sekiro: No Defeat, the series will consist of eight episodes.

Animation studio Qzil.la, which produced the theatrical film version, is handling the adaptation. The TV series will follow the film's story while adding new episodes and scenes.

The story is set in the late Sengoku period. It follows the shinobi Wolf and his young master, Kuro, the last descendant of a lineage with the power of the "Dragon's Blood," which grants immortality at a terrible cost.

The series features music by Shuta Hasunuma. The theme song is "Blu" by the late composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, taken from his album The Best of 'Playing the Orchestra 2014'.

Key staff includes director Kenichi Kurume and series composer Takuya Sato. The main cast features Daisuke Namikawa as Wolf and Miyuki Satō as Kuro.

The theatrical film, an edited version of the series, had a limited three-week run in Japan starting September 4, 2026.
