SiM's 'FREEZE ME UP' Opening for Anime 'BLACK TORCH' Released

The non-credit opening video for the upcoming anime 'BLACK TORCH' is now available. The sequence features the theme song "FREEZE ME UP" by the rock band SiM.

The anime premieres July 4. It will stream on platforms including Prime Video, Hulu, Disney+ Star, and YouTube (for rental) alongside Japanese services. The story follows Jiro Azuma, a high schooler who can talk to animals and discovers a wounded black cat named Rago, who is actually a legendary monster.

The opening video shows members of the "Black Torch" organization and monsters like Tengu and Koga. It includes several of the series' battle scenes.

The voice cast includes Ryota Suzuki as Jiro and Yoji Ueda as Rago. Other cast members are Saori Hayami, Junichi Suwabe, Toshiyuki Morikawa, and Nobuhiko Okamoto.

The anime is directed by Kei Mahibiki, with character design by Go Suzuki. The ending theme is "Groooovy" by I Don't Like Mondays.

The series is based on a manga by Tatsuya Takaki, published by Shueisha.
