Studio KAI to Host 'Sentenced to Be a Hero' Creator Panel at Anime Expo 2026

Studio KAI will host a special creator panel for the dark fantasy anime 'Sentenced to Be a Hero' at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles. The panel is scheduled for July 3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The panel will feature producer Masashi Masuo, assistant director and creature designer Yoshimasa Nakakoji, character designer Takeshi Noda, and chief animation director Kazuki Kimura. They will discuss behind-the-scenes production details for the series.

Chief animation director Kazuki Kimura will perform a live drawing demonstration on stage. The completed illustration will be given away to an audience member.

The first attendees at the panel will receive a newly illustrated trading card. The cards feature four random characters from the series: Zairo Forbartz, Theoritta, Patoshe Kivia, and Rhino.

The series is based on the light novel 'Sentenced to Be a Hero: Penalty Hero 9004 Squad Prison Record' by Rocket Shokai.

Anime Expo 2026 runs from July 2 to July 5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The 'Sentenced to Be a Hero' panel is set for July 3 at 4:15 PM local time in Room 403AB.
