Uru releases 'Kyou to Iu Hi o' for Kimura Takuya film 'Kyojou Requiem'

Uru released a new digital single, "Kyou to Iu Hi o," today. The song serves as the theme for the film "Kyojou Requiem," starring Kimura Takuya.

The music video premiered on YouTube. It was directed by Tanimoto Masanori and features actor Oonishi Riku portraying a student navigating setbacks and graduation.

The single is included on her upcoming album "tone," her first full album in about three years since "Contrast." It will be released on February 18 in three editions: a limited edition with a Blu-ray of live footage, a limited edition with a second disc of cover songs, and a standard edition.

The standard edition of "tone" features 15 tracks, including several theme songs for anime and dramas. Notable inclusions are "Ambivalent," the opening theme for the second cour of "The Apothecary Diaries," and "Kamihitoe," the ending theme for "Hell's Paradise."

Other theme songs on the album are "Sobara nite Tsukiyo" for the film "Kusunoki no Bannin" (written and composed by back number's Shimizu Iyori), "Tegami" for "Yukikaze," "Never ends" for the drama "DOPE," and "Kokoroe" for the drama "Kazama Kyojo - Kyojou 0 -" and film "Kyojou Reunion."

The limited cover edition includes new recordings of five songs: "Hitomi o Tojite" (Ken Hirai), "Niji" (Masaki Suda), "Kizutsukeru" (CreepHyp), "Shiawase na Ketsumatsu" (Eiichi Ohtaki), and "Tatoeba" (Masashi Sada). It also features previously released covers of Mrs. GREEN APPLE's "Ao to Natsu," Kirinji's "Aliens," and Shitoope's "Rendezvous."

"Kyojou Requiem" is the second part of a two-film series finale, following "Kyojou Reunion" which began streaming on Netflix on January 1. "Kyojou Requiem" opens in Japanese theaters on February 20.

Uru has also announced a 2026 hall tour, "Uru Tour 2026 'tone'," with dates from July to October in Osaka, Saitama, Aichi, Tokyo, and Hyogo.
