YOASOBI releases 'Orion' for Overwatch collaboration

The track "Orion" is featured on the duo's 4th EP, THE BOOK for, which was released digitally on June 26. A collaboration music video premiered on YouTube on July 4.

The song is based on the short story The Fall of a Sparrow, which serves as a prequel to the game's new Tokyo map. The narrative follows the characters Genji, Hanzo, and Kiriko as they confront their pasts. The music video depicts these conflicts with action sequences set in the game's universe.

An in-game collaboration event is currently live, running until July 21. The event introduces six exclusive character skins based on YOASOBI's aesthetic, including designs for Hanzo, Genji, Kiriko, Mizuki, Juno, and Anlan. A dance emote set to "Orion" is also available.

The original short story can be read on the Overwatch website. A US-exclusive vinyl edition of the EP with special Overwatch artwork and a separate domestic Japanese vinyl release are scheduled for July 31.
