YOASOBI to Perform Theme Song for 2026 NHK Morning Drama 'Blossom'

YOASOBI will provide the theme song for the 2026 NHK morning drama series, Blossom. The song is based on an original novel written by author Wataya Risa specifically for the project.

The drama, set to air from autumn 2026, is based on the life of author Uno Chiyo. YOASOBI composer Ayase said he read Uno's autobiography and visited her hometown in Yamaguchi Prefecture while creating the music. "I am confident this is a song I can release from the heart," Ayase stated.

Vocalist Ikura said she sang while thinking of the drama's protagonist, Hano Tama, who turns all emotions into energy to move forward. "I felt my own back being pushed forward by the song's intensity," she added.

Novelist Wataya Risa, known for works like Kick Me in the Back, wrote the story that inspired the YOASOBI track. She described modeling Uno Chiyo's enduring vitality after a cherry tree.

The drama Blossom stars actors including Shizuka Ishibashi, Mariko Kaga, Takako Matsu, Ryoko Kuninaka, and Atsuro Watabe.
