Live-Action Drama Adaptation Set for Popular Manga 'Sono Tensai-sama wa Gisou Kanojo ni Shuchaku Suru'

The popular romance manga Sono Tensai-sama wa Gisou Kanojo ni Shuchaku Suru (The Genius is Obsessed with His Fake Girlfriend) will be adapted into a live-action TV drama. It premieres on CBC Television on April 23, 2026.

The manga, published under BookLive's Live Comics label, has sold over 900,000 copies in print and digital formats, generating over 6 billion yen in sales.

The story follows a perfectionist, solitary genius programmer, Ikutsuki Wakatsuki, and a clumsy but earnest heroine, Rin Hoshino. Their relationship begins with a contract for a fake romance.

Imoken Daiki, leader of the idol group B&ZAI, will play Wakatsuki. Kato Shiho, a former member of Hinatazaka46 now active as a model and actress, will play Hoshino.

The drama will air locally on CBC TV every Thursday at 12:58 AM JST. Episodes will be available for catch-up streaming on TVer after broadcast.
