LaLa Magazine Debuts Official VTuber Kanda La Lao

The manga magazine LaLa has launched its official VTuber, Kanda La Lao. The character was named by Yuki Midorikawa, creator of Natsume's Book of Friends. Character design is by Akiharu Fuyunatsu, with illustrations by Junko Ike.

Kanda La Lao is described as a fallen angel who landed in Awajicho after being cast out of heaven. He now works as a new employee at the LaLa editorial department. His role is to share behind-the-scenes information about the magazine's works and details for its upcoming 50th-anniversary projects.

The character stands 183cm tall, with a birthday of July 24. He lost his wings after a fall from grace but can still fly thanks to the wings of a Hakusensha cat.

A teaser PV for the VTuber is available on YouTube. The character's official YouTube channel and X account are now active.

The July 2026 issue of Monthly LaLa, which features the character, is on sale in Japan from May 22 to June 23.
