Momoko Kikuchi releases first digital single, 'Starry Sky' English Version

Momoko Kikuchi has released her first digital single in a 42-year career. The track, 'Starry Sky English Version,' is available now on global streaming platforms.

The song is an English-language version of a track from her 2024 EP 'Eternal Harmony,' which she wrote and composed. Kikuchi had performed it in English at recent live shows. This new version features a string arrangement by Ryo Sonoda, who serves as the bandmaster for her recent concerts.

In a comment, Kikuchi reflected on the lyrics. "When I look back on the bravest time in my life so far, it was when my children were young and came to me for help as a mother," she said. "In the second chorus, the image of looking up at the stars was of me and my child. I would be happy if listeners imagine it as time spent with someone precious to them."

Kikuchi will perform concerts in Japan this June with the 'Momoko Kikuchi & Ryo Sonoda Quintet' in Kobe and Tokyo. She described the theme of the live performances as "amber."
