YouTube Channel META TAXI Announces First Original Anime 'WONDERING MATE'

The YouTube channel META TAXI will release its first original short anime series, 'WONDERING MATE', starting December 16. The 12-episode series will be available on the channel's YouTube page.

The story follows two avatars, Ako and Bit, who continue to exist in a digital space after their original service shuts down. Ako, a high school girl avatar fascinated by humans, and her speaker-shaped partner Bit navigate their unchanging world. Voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto, known for roles in 'My Hero Academia' and 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End', voices Bit. Newcomer Yuno Nakahara voices Ako in her first anime lead role.

The animation is produced by the CG team Hurray!. Scriptwriting duties fall to Inu Hirayama from the popular sketch comedy unit Tentententei.

A promotional talk event is scheduled for November 22 at the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival in Hokkaido.

The full series begins its weekly release on December 16 at 9 PM JST.
