Fuji TV Webtoon 'Hostage Wife Wants a Divorce' Taps Charts, Features New Song by Announcer Sakuma Minami

The new WEBTOON Hostage Wife Wants a Divorce (人質妻は離婚したい) has ranked number one across three categories on the LINE Manga platform. The title is the third release from Fuji TV's Webtoon label, TOON8.

The fantasy romance series follows a noblewoman, Saleria, who marries a duke from an enemy nation as a political hostage. After three years of a cold, loveless marriage, she asks for a divorce as peace is finally declared.

A launch event was streamed live on the Fuji TV Anime official YouTube channel. A watch party replay of that event is available on the same channel until August 24, 2026.

The project has collaborated with Fuji TV announcer Sakuma Minami for its theme song. Her new single is Wish (願い).

The song was co-written by Sakuma Minami and lyricist Kusakawa Shun. It was co-composed and arranged by producer KAY, whose work is featured on OnlyHits Japan. The track became available on major streaming platforms starting August 18.

Two collaboration videos combining the song with WEBTOON scenes—a short and a full version—are on YouTube.

The WEBTOON is produced by LOCKER ROOM, a subsidiary of entertainment company 1LDK, in partnership with Fuji TV.
