The TV anime adaptation of the award-winning manga 'Tenmaku no Jaadugar' held a special screening at Japan Expo 2026 in Paris on July 10. Episodes one through four were shown to a packed audience. TV Asahi producer Kazuki Endo on stage at Japan Expo 2026

TV Asahi producer Kazuki Endo spoke before the screening. He explained his motivation for adapting the series, citing its unique balance of a cute, stylized art style with a serious and hard-hitting story. Endo noted that this specific style made animation challenging, leading him to directly approach Science SARU, the studio behind 'Dandadan' and 'Heike Monogatari'.

Endo also detailed the production team's research trip to Mongolia, the story's setting. The team, including chief director Naoko Yamada and director Abel Gongora, conducted a homestay in a traditional ger (yurt) to better understand the culture and environment depicted in the series.

The producer emphasized the close collaboration with original creator Tomato Soup, a noted historical researcher, who provided detailed reference materials.

'Tenmaku no Jaadugar' is a historical saga set in the 13th-century Mongol Empire. It follows the intertwined fates of Shitara, a young girl who uses knowledge as her weapon, and Dregene, an imperial consort harboring deep resentment.

The anime is streaming globally on Crunchyroll in over 200 countries and regions. In Japan, it airs weekly on TV Asahi's "IMAnimation" block and BS Asahi.
