Anime 'Nippon Sangoku' Announces Leina as Ending Theme Artist, Sets Worldwide Premiere

The upcoming anime Nippon Sangoku has revealed singer-songwriter Leina will perform its ending theme, 'Chikai'. A new key visual and the third trailer, featuring the song, were also released ahead of the series' global premiere on Prime Video on April 5, 2026.

The series is based on the manga by Ikka Matsuki, which has over 1 million copies in print. It depicts a future Japan fractured into three warring states. The story follows former minor official Aoteru Misumi, voiced by Kensho Ono, who uses his knowledge and rhetoric to rise in a bid to reunify the country.

The anime is a co-production with Amazon MGM Studios. It will stream on Prime Video at 21:00 JST on April 5. Broadcasts on Japanese TV networks begin the following day.

The new key visual, drawn by Studio Kafka, shows protagonists Aoteru Misumi and Yoshitsune Asama standing before Osaka's Tsutenkaku tower.

Atsushi Murase joins as Heiden Tsugu, Shunosuke Sakeno as Kuraaki Kira, Shuichiro Umeda as Nagao Muton, and Kenyu Horiuchi as Hei Yayakichi.

Kevin Penkin is composing the music. The opening theme is 'Hidane' by Tatsuya Kitani.

The main cast also includes Jun Fukuyama, Asami Seto, Kazuhiro Yamaji, and Yuichi Nakamura.
