Fist of the North Star Short Anime Announces Second Cour with Tsuyoshi Ujiki

The comedic short anime 'Hokuto no Ken: Ken-Oh Gun Zako-tachi no Banka' (Fist of the North Star: Requiem for the Ken-Oh Army Zako) will begin its second cour on July 6, 2026. A new promotional video has been released.

The series focuses on the low-ranking soldiers, or 'zako', within the army of the antagonist Raoh. The new ending theme for the second cour is 'Shiroi Chou ga Tondara' (When the White Butterfly Flies) by Itsuka ▶, featuring a special guest appearance by guitarist Tsuyoshi Ujiki.

Ujiki performed on the original 'Fist of the North Star' anime's theme songs roughly 40 years ago. "Even now, after all this time, they still reach out at these milestones," Ujiki said in a statement. "It's something I could hardly imagine back then."

The main 'Fist of the North Star -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR-' anime, which began airing in April 2026, features an opening theme by [Alexandros] and a cover of the classic ending 'Ai wo Torimodose.' by Toshl. The short anime's opening is 'I'm a Loser' by The Canbellz.

The short anime 'Hokuto no Ken: Ken-Oh Gun Zako-tachi no Banka' is produced under the Animatica label. The main voice cast includes Hiro Shimono, Shinnosuke Hai, and Masayuki Yano. Music for the short series is composed by Seiji Miura.

The primary 'Fist of the North Star' anime series is available for global streaming on Prime Video.
