Paul McCartney Announces 18th Solo Album 'The Boys of Dungeon Lane'

Paul McCartney will release his 18th solo album, "The Boys of Dungeon Lane," on May 29. The album is his first since "McCartney III" in 2020.

The project began five years ago with producer Andrew Watt. McCartney recorded the album during breaks from touring, with sessions in Los Angeles and Sussex. The label gave them no deadlines.

The track "Home To Us" features a duet with Ringo Starr. Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri provide backing vocals. McCartney built the song around a drum track Starr recorded after McCartney and Watt requested it.

McCartney plays most of the instruments himself.

The album artwork is a collage using over 100 images from McCartney's personal archive, including unpublished photos of the young Beatles.

McCartney discussed the album in a special conversation with actor Paul Mescal, who will portray McCartney in Sam Mendes's upcoming Beatles film series. The interview, "The Boys of Dungeon Lane: In Conversation with Paul McCartney & Paul Mescal," is available on Amazon Live.

Lyric videos for "Days We Left Behind" and "Come Inside" have been released.
