Saikyo Mahoushi no Inton Keikaku Light Novel Gets 2027 TV Anime

The light novel series Saikyo Mahoushi no Inton Keikaku (The Strongest Mage's Seclusion Plan) will receive a TV anime adaptation in 2027. The series has sold over one million copies. A teaser visual, promotional video, main cast, and key staff members were revealed alongside the announcement.

Yuto Uemura, known for his role as Atsushi Nakajima in Bungo Stray Dogs, will voice the overpowered protagonist, Ars Regin.

The story follows Ars, the world's strongest mage, who seeks a peaceful life after years on the front lines. His request for retirement is denied, and he is instead ordered to enroll incognito at a magic academy to train the next generation.

The anime will be directed by Yusuke Suzuki (Duel Masters series), with series composition by Tomoemon Ichikawa (Job Ravers). Character design is by Yuki Kitajima (Pretty Cure, Laid-Back Camp), and sound direction is by Takatoshi Hamano (Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku). Animation production will be handled by HOTLINE.

The original creators, author Izushiro and character designer Miyuki Ruria, provided congratulatory comments and artwork for the announcement.

To commemorate the anime adaptation, a new prequel manga series titled The Strongest Mage's Seclusion Plan Zero: The Secret History of the Beginning will launch. It will be serialized on the Comic Fire platform in winter 2026. The manga will be drawn by Karu Yoneshiro, who also handles the main series' comic adaptation.
