YOSHIKI Surprises Diana Ross Fans With Second Japan Performance

YOSHIKI made a surprise appearance at Diana Ross's Osaka concert on May 25, performing alongside the American singer for a second time in three days.

Ross introduced YOSHIKI to the Osaka audience as a "very, very special guest" after requesting his participation following their first collaboration at her Tokyo show on May2523. At the Tokyo concert at K Arena Yokohama, Ross asked YOSHIKI to extend his piano solo during their performance of "If We Hold On Together." YOSHIKI complied with an improvised, longer arrangement.

After the Tokyo performance, Ross personally asked YOSHIKI to join her in Osaka. YOSHIKI adjusted his travel schedule to the United States to accommodate the request. At the Osaka concert, Ross told the audience, "It is truly an honor for me to stand here together. And twice. Yes, the night before last, and tonight."

The duo performed "If We Hold On Together" again in Osaka, with Ross inviting the audience to sing along with YOSHIKI's crystal piano.

After the show, YOSHIKI discussed his upcoming Los Angeles concerts with Ross. She expressed interest in attending his performances at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in July.

YOSHIKI commented on Ross's improvisational style. "Among many artists who perform predetermined stages, Diana freely manipulates music improvisationally on stage, which impressed me greatly," he said. "I was able to respond because I practice daily, but I feel the true artist image in such ad-libs."

YOSHIKI will receive the "Medal of Honor" from the Entertainment Community Fund at a gala in New York on June 1, marking the first Japanese artist to earn the organization's highest award.

His scheduled performances, "YOSHIKI CLASSICAL 2026," will take place at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on July 16 and 17. The two-night event is titled "Scarlet Night & Violet Night." Tickets are available through his official site.

In August, YOSHIKI will host a dinner show in Tokyo titled "EVENING / BREAKFAST with YOSHIKI 2026 in TOKYO JAPAN" 100th ANNIVERSARY.
