Zero Uchi Releases First Original Song Designed for Otagei Culture

The performance group Zero kara Uchishi Hajimemasu. (Zero Uchi) releases their first original single on March 18. The song, titled 'Romance Keihou Hatsureichuu.' (Romance Alert in Effect.), is described as the first track created specifically for the 'otagei' fan performance culture.

Zero Uchi has over 11 million followers across social media platforms. The group gained wider recognition for their otagei choreography work on the 'Oshi no Ko' live-action drama and film in 2024.

The song is built around the 'romance' movement, a foundational sequence in otagei. It incorporates member chants and is structured to facilitate performance, with precise timing for key moves and breaks. Producer sabio handled the track's production, using a VOCALOID-based sound for speed and intensity.

Illustrator hao, whose work has been featured on OnlyHits Japan radio, created the single's jacket art through a contest on the ENRAI creative platform. The artwork depicts the five members with colorful, pop-style eyes.

A secondary campaign involves members visiting schools in Japan's Kanto region to perform the new song. The group's official performance video premieres on YouTube at 00:00 JST on March 18.
