Transformers: The Movie Gets First-Ever Japanese Theatrical Release in 2026

The 1986 animated film 'Transformers: The Movie' will receive its first theatrical release in Japan in November 2026.

The film was never screened in Japanese cinemas. It features high-budget animation and a soundtrack that includes Stan Bush's "The Touch."

The screening will be held at United Cinemas locations nationwide, operated by Lawson. Tickets and special merchandise bundles go on sale September 14, 2026, through Lawson Ticket and Moviewalker platforms.

The film's release is organized by the Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Screening Executive Committee, with cooperation from Takara Tomy and Hasbro.
