The Top 40 J-POP songs - Week 35 of 2024 – OnlyHit Japan Charts

This week's top 40 chart presents some notable movements and highlights. Creepy Nuts’ "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" comfortably maintains its reign at number one for the eighth consecutive week, showing its enduring popularity. "SPECIALZ" by King Gnu climbs into the second position, overtaking last week's fourth position to mark its best performance yet. BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy’s "RATATATA" also ascends one spot to claim third place, while "WOKE UP" by XG advances to fourth. Rosa Walton and Hallie Coggins make significant strides as "I Really Want to Stay at Your House" leaps from ninth to secure a spot in the top five for the first time.
Further down the chart, YOASOBI’s "アイドル" takes a leap forward, moving from twelfth to sixth, which is indicative of a rekindled listener interest or strategic promotional efforts. This trend is visible with other tracks as well, like "Shinunoga E-Wa" by Fujii Kaze, which moves up a notch to ninth, and "Hai Yorokonde" by Kocchi no Kento climbing from fourteenth to a new peak of tenth. However, XG’s "SOMETHING AIN'T RIGHT" experiences a setback, slipping from sixth to eleventh.

The mid-chart sees a mix of quiet stability and subtle ascensions. Tracks by Tatsuya Kitani and MY FIRST STORY, along with Vaundy and Siinamota, show minimal shifts, indicating consistent audience interest. Another highlight is Yuuri’s "カーテンコール" climbing to eighteenth this week, previously at nineteenth, marking its best position so far. An unexpected shake-up comes with "花になって - Be a flower" by Ryokuoushoku Shakai, which jumps five places to reach twenty-second place.

Towards the end of the top 40, notable movements include "ライラック" by Mrs. GREEN APPLE making a remarkable climb from fortieth to thirty-third. Meanwhile, several tracks descend the ranks, such as "Miku" by Anamanaguchi and Hatsune Miku dropping to thirty-ninth. It’ll be interesting to see how these trends develop as newer entries challenge the status quo, and whether the climbers can maintain their momentum or the mainstays will reclaim the higher positions. Keep an eye on where these patterns take us in the upcoming weeks!
