'Girls Band Cry' Announces New Theatrical Film for 2027

The hit anime series 'Girls Band Cry' will continue with a new theatrical film. 'Girls Band Cry THE MOVIE' is scheduled for release on May 21, 2027.

A teaser trailer and new key visual have been released. The visual, drawn by character designer Teshima Nari, features the five members of the band Togenashi Togeari—Inuzuka Nina, Kawaragi Momoka, Awa Subaru, Ebizuka Satomi, and Rupa—alongside the series' signature catchphrase.

The original TV series, which aired in 2024, trended on social media for seven consecutive weeks. Its success spawned a real-life band of the same name, Togenashi Togeari, which is scheduled to perform at K Arena Yokohama in 2027.

The film's staff includes director Sakai Kazuo, scriptwriter Hanada Jukki, and music producer Tamai Kenji. The full voice cast from the series will return.

Advance ticket cards featuring the new visual will go on sale in Japan on November 6. The film will be distributed by Toei.
