YOASOBI Releases Animated Music Video for New Song 'Sakihokore'

YOASOBI released the digital single "Sakihokore" and its full animated music video on October 14. The song is the theme for the NHK morning drama series "Blossom."

The music video is based on the original novel "Hana no Inochi wa Fumetsu Nari" and draws inspiration from the life of Chiyo Uno, the real-life model for the drama's protagonist.

Composer Ayase said he felt the collective spirit of the team was drawn to Uno's soul during production. Vocalist ikura described the video's narrative, where a modern woman finds courage in Uno's words. The creative team was led by director Ai Nina and animation director Kariya Nobuhide.

To commemorate the release, the seek bar on YOASOBI's official YouTube channel has been temporarily styled with a cherry blossom motif across all videos, excluding live streams and Shorts.

The song "Sakihokore" is available on major streaming platforms.
