BoA Releases First Japanese Mini-Album in 8 Years, 'Hohaba'

BoA has digitally released her first Japanese-original mini-album in eight years, titled 'Hohaba'. The release coincides with her 25th anniversary of debuting in Japan.

The title track's official music video premieres today at 20:00 Japan Standard Time on her official YouTube channel. A physical CD release follows on November 25.

'Hohaba' is BoA's first self-produced Japanese work since her 2010 album 'IDENTITY'. She handled the lyrics, composition, and production for all five original Japanese tracks on the mini-album.

The album contains six tracks total, including an instrumental version of the title song. The tracklist features 'There for you' and 'Ain't No Hard Feelings'.

The CD will be available in three versions: a First Press Limited Edition, a First Press Alternate Jacket Edition, and a Standard Edition. The limited editions include different jacket art, picture labels, a 16-page booklet, and a random photo card.

Pre-orders for the CD are open. Purchaser bonuses include a clear file from mu-mo shop and a mega jacket from Amazon, while supplies last.

BoA debuted in 2000 at age 13. Known as a pioneer of K-pop, she was the first Korean artist to achieve six consecutive number-one albums on the Oricon weekly chart in Japan and the first to chart on the Billboard 200 in the United States.

In 2026, she established her own independent label, BApal. Beyond her music career, she also works as a producer for NCT WISH.

The digital album is available now on streaming platforms. The 'Hohaba' music video will be on the BoA Official YouTube channel.
